The CNIO invites applications for:
Scientific Events Manager
The position provides the opportunity of working in a very dynamic and international environment in one of the most attractive cities in Europe.
Responsibilities of the Scientific Events Manager include the management of scientific events organised at the CNIO, specifically:
•The preparation and management of our international conferences, symposia, workshops, seminar series as well as our internal seminar series. This includes participant management (incl. registration, handling of general requests, payments etc.), general event logistics, registration desk etc.
•Updating the information of the Scientific Events section on the CNIO’s web page and intranet and advertising the centre’s events internationally
•The efficient day-to-day operation of the Scientific Events Office
•Maintaining conference and participant files and databases as well as record keeping
•Compiling information on the scientific events at the CNIO as needed and in a timely manner
The successful candidate should have
•Prior experience in managing scientific events in an international context
•Very effective organizational skills, including the ability to gather, analyze and organise complex information skilfully and rapidly, attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
•Excellent good communication and interpersonal skills combined with a high degree of self motivation and team orientation as well as an ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
•A very good command of both Spanish and English (spoken and written)
•A thorough knowledge of standard computer programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•A degree in the Life Sciences or Biomedical Sciences is not required, but will be positively evaluated
